Definition

The pH for measuring the alkaline phosphatases activity is 10. The p-nitrophenol form as a product of reaction between ALP and PNPP ia yellow in colour.



Clinical Significance

increased alkaline phosphatase activity may be related to hepatobilary and bone disease related. to liver or bile duct. Vary high alkaline phosphatase activity is seen jn patient with:

- Bone Cancer

- Obstructive Jaundice

- Billary Cirrhosis

- Congestive Heart Failure

- Infective Hepatitis

- Abdominal
